Trading Fees
B3X charges trading fees only on Hyperliquid trades. Aster and Lighter trades have no B3X trading fees.
Hyperliquid Trading Fees
Fee Structure:
- Fixed Fee: $0.01 USDC per order
- Variable Fee: 0.05% of order value (notional value)
- Total Fee: $0.01 + (Order Value × 0.05%)
When Charged:
- Applied to all non-reduce-only orders on Hyperliquid
- Charged when placing the order, before execution
- Automatically deducted from your Hyperliquid perp balance
Not Charged On:
- Reduce-only orders (closing positions)
- Aster trades (no B3X trading fees)
- Lighter trades (no B3X trading fees)
Fee Calculation
The trading fee is calculated based on the order's notional value:
Notional Value = Order Size × Price
Example 1: Small Order
- Order: Buy 0.1 ETH at $3,000
- Notional Value: 0.1 × $3,000 = $300
- Variable Fee: $300 × 0.05% = $0.15
- Fixed Fee: $0.01
- Total Trading Fee: $0.16
Example 2: Medium Order
- Order: Buy 1 BTC at $50,000
- Notional Value: 1 × $50,000 = $50,000
- Variable Fee: $50,000 × 0.05% = $25
- Fixed Fee: $0.01
- Total Trading Fee: $25.01
Example 3: Large Order
- Order: Buy 10 BTC at $50,000
- Notional Value: 10 × $50,000 = $500,000
- Variable Fee: $500,000 × 0.05% = $250
- Fixed Fee: $0.01
- Total Trading Fee: $250.01
Copy Trading Fees
Copy trading uses the same fee structure:
- Trading fees apply to each copied trade on Hyperliquid
- No additional fees for using copy trading
- Fees are automatically deducted when trades execute
DEX Trading Fees
In addition to B3X trading fees, each DEX charges its own trading fees:
Hyperliquid:
- Maker Fee: Varies by tier (typically 0.00% - 0.02%)
- Taker Fee: Varies by tier (typically 0.02% - 0.05%)
- Fees depend on your 30-day trading volume
Aster:
- Maker Fee: Varies by tier
- Taker Fee: Varies by tier
- No B3X trading fees
Lighter:
- Maker Fee: Varies by tier
- Taker Fee: Varies by tier
- No B3X trading fees
DEX fees are charged by the exchange when your order fills and are reflected in your execution price.
Fee Payment
Automatic Deduction:
Trading fees are automatically deducted from your Hyperliquid perp balance when placing orders. Ensure you have sufficient balance to cover both the order margin and the trading fee.
Fee Transfer:
Fees are transferred to B3X's fee recipient address using Hyperliquid's internal transfer function. This happens instantly before your order is placed.
Insufficient Balance:
If you don't have enough balance to cover the trading fee, the order will fail. Make sure your perp balance includes enough for both margin and fees.
Fee Transparency
Before Order Placement:
The trading fee is calculated and displayed before you confirm an order, so you know exactly what you'll pay.
Fee History:
View your fee history in your account to track all trading fees paid over time.
Transaction Records:
Each fee payment is recorded on-chain and can be verified using the transaction hash.
Important Notes
Reduce-Only Orders:
Orders that only close existing positions (reduce-only) are not charged trading fees. This includes stop-loss and take-profit orders set to reduce-only.
Market vs Limit Orders:
Trading fees are the same for both market and limit orders. The fee is based on order size and price, not order type.
Failed Orders:
If an order fails to execute (e.g., insufficient margin, invalid parameters), the trading fee is not charged.
Leverage:
Trading fees are calculated on notional value, not margin used. Higher leverage doesn't increase trading fees, but it does increase DEX trading fees on the larger position size.
